Bad day at work. So bad, I left early. Kinda worried about getting reprimanded for it at some point in time but shit. Can't sell toys if you can't stop crying, can you?

Long story short, manager asked me to do a specific job of organizing a display of sippy cups in the back of the store. Kept getting stopped by multiple customers and fellow employees at the same time, so I busted my ass to help them all while trying to get to the sippy cups, which involved cleaning shit-stained floors in the bathroom and returning an entire cart of re-shop forged from deep within the bowels of the back bay. I finally get everything done and I am about to start working on the cups, and manager has assigned another floor person to do it without telling me.

I confronted him about it and asked him if he thought I was lazy. He said jokingly, with a smile on his face "No, I just thought you were avoiding it".

Wow, thanks.

I come in when you call last minute, I stay after my designated hours when you need me (on or off the clock), and help customers as best as I can, always with a smile, and yet - do I not deserve respect? Am I so easily replaced?

Gonna be keeping an eye out for a new job, anyway.

Holyshit they gave me mad hours at work this past week. 4 days IN A ROW! 1st day was 5 and 1/2 hours, two middle days were 8 hours each, and today was a good 4 and 1/2 hours.

Doesn't sound like too much, but consider the fact that I am walking the floor all day, lifting heavy objects and ladders, running around for guests - ALL in a building with defective air conditioners with temps topping 100+ outside.

Needless to say, I am BEAT. But that means mad bank come next Friday.

Next week has only two days in store for me, but both are 8 hours days. Yipe!

Time for some well deserved cheesecake. *drooooools*

We think the nerve may have originally died because of tramua from the airbags in my accident.  The time frame seems about right.  I take great care of my teeth, so this is just a mystery to me as to why this has happened.  I mean, if the airbags had enough force to break my winshield, then they could kill a tooth, right? haha.

I'm in a lot of pain and if you know me well, you know that I hate taking strong painkillers like codiene.  I do NOT respond well to them.  I just gotta tough it out and hope this gets resolved before Califur rolls around.

So it looks like somehow the nerve in one of my front upper teeth died. =(  There's a large cyst at the root of the tooth so I'll be getting a root canal this Tuesday.  Then a crown whenever the insurance approves it.  Sad face. =[

I take *very* good care of my teeth and am boggled as to why this has happened.  There's no cavity, chipping/cracking, or breaking of the tooth involved.  It just gave up the will to live. rofl.

I think I'll just be glad to be able to CHEW anything after this is all over.  I just ran out of oatmeal. NOOOOO!

School's almost over and finals are next week - yay!  That means I'll have a lot more free time to get ready for Califur.

I'm pretty bummed that I couldn't complete anything in time for the conbook - there's always next year I suppose.  School was a call'n (and that comes first!)

Still, I got a bunch of cool concepts outta my brainstorming for the conbook: English Bulldog hunter guy in his trophy room (I say!), Jackal, it's a jackal!!, and perhaps something about lions vs. rodesian ridgebacks bwahahaha.  I wanted to participate in the art show but I don't know if I'll have enough time to make/matt/frame pieces.  I don't want to buy the panels and then not have anything to show as it's not fair to the art show staff or other artists. = /

I figured that any originals I have I'll matt/frame and sell at my table.  That way I don't have to stress so much.

Speaking of a table, I just sent my application out for CF (and FC!) today.  Jeeze, talk about late.  I hope there's some still open = [

Still working on Fera - really not sure if I will have her done for CF but I am sure as hell gonna try.  I got the time, I think.

A new thing you guys might not know about me is that I am an up and coming burd nurd.  Totally.  My biology professor got me into it when he invited me to a birdwatching event and I've never looked back. <3

Today he took me out birding again today to participate in a local bird tally/species hunt.  We found over 50+ different species in the two counties we traversed today.

I got a few "firsts" today, one of which was a male yellow headed blackbird like this guy:

Greater roadrunner was awesome as well.

This super chill Swainson's hawk just totally sat right in front of us on a pole while we admired it.  What a ham. =P

Saw a few ruddy ducks which is always awesome.  Love the blue bills!! XD

There were LOTS of plovers and wading birds as well.  Elegant.

I'm going back tomorrow, and this time I'm taking my camera so I can have PICS for you all. =D

Well, the results couldn't have been better.  No broken bones, no internal bleeding, no serious injuries.  He said that I will become even more sore over the next few days and told me to take ibuprofen for the pain/swelling.  He's also thinking that I might need some physical therapy before this is over, but considering how bad it could have been, this is nothing short of a miracle.

Just as an update, I made it through the night okay.  I am very sore on my neck, back, and chest, but other than that no signs of a concussion or anything.  I am going to the doctor today ASAP.  I already took off work so I will be at home for the rest of the day taking it easy.

I just got home from a car accident.  I am completely okay, just a little sore.  I was trying to merge onto the freeway fast lane when a lifted truck cut me off, I saw him at the last minute, over corrected, fishtailed, and slammed into the divider/median going about 60/65 mph.  Thank god I did not hit anyone else, and that I was the only person in the car and I am completely ok (for now).  I was wearing my seat belt and the airbags deployed perfectly, they did not hurt at all.

Four different people stopped and helped me out, and I wish I could thank them more in hindsight.  I was in too much shock to call 911 or my parents, and they helped me through it, held me, and waited with me until the CHP and my stepdad arrived.  Thank you for risking your lives to cross the freeway and make sure I was ok.

My car was still drivable immediately after the accident (the CHP drove it to the right side of the freeway shoulder) but it looks like the insurance might write it off as being totalled.  That's fine.  Thank god it was still fully covered.

I am so thankful that I am alive.

Hay guys??  What are you using for tablets right now?  I know the new intuos4 just came out and my wittle intuos2 is crappin' out on me so I was looking for something a little more current.  Is Wacom still the/a leading brand for tablets?  Does anyone have a bamboo tablet, and if so, does it work well for you?  What's the difference between bamboo and bamboo fun?  Any other tablet related banter is encouraged!
